Supporting Veteran Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders

Military service members dedicate much of their lives to serve their country and community. When they retire, many programs and non-profits seek to support the transition to civilian life, with resources for career, learning new skills, and more.

Many veterans choose to start their own businesses or work as freelancers after retirement, however, rather than seeking traditional employment. 

GruntWerx wants to help veterans excel as small business owners, investors, and more by overcoming the following common barriers:

  • Lack of mentorship
  • Lack of business knowledge

GruntWerx provides veterans, first responders, and military spouses with mentorship and business training so they can grow small businesses, as well as gain financial and IT acumen.

A good business idea will align with your skills and address a need in your community. Think about who will buy your product or service and who your competitors are.

Learn Lean Start-Up Principles

Learn how to cultivate and apply an "experimenter's" mindset to become as efficient as possible with limited resources.

Develop a Proof of Concept

During this phase of the course, you will learn how to identify and develop different prototypes or minimum viable products (MVPs) to test your value proposition.

who we serve

GruntWerx provides free business resources and entrepreneurship training to veterans and active service members from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. First responders, military spouses, and dependents who are interested in launching or growing a small business are also eligible.

 

Services are first-come, first-serve, so we cannot guarantee availability, however, we aim to serve as many qualified applicants as possible.
